Digital citizenship Week

Throughout this year we have learned lessons from Hectors world about how to stay safe online and the type of information we should and should not give out to people we don't know.
During digital citizenship week we were learning to discern whether what we see on the internet is true or not and what are some of the ways we can work this out. We used the 2publish program to draw images of things we had found out were not true.

Well done Adwoa and Aysiah ! A great effort

Our Ident-i-tree

We are all like trees
Our roots - the things valuable to us ; family, language, values. roles and responsibilities
Our  trunk  - the main influences in our lives, the  people we mix with at school, church, sports groups etc
Our leaves  - outside influences; peers, neighbours, older cousins.

Cooked vs Raw

This week we compared raw popping corn with cooked popcorn. We discovered not only did raw popcorn look, smell, and feel different to cooked popcorn it definitely tasted different. We all enjoyed the buttery crunchy popped corn!!!

First we melted the butter

Then we added the popping corn

After a few minutes it started to pop

The finished product

Yum !!!

Thank you Room 4 for the popping corn and Sifa for the frypan.

Today's the day - Teddy bear's picnic

Miss Long started our day with a story about the "best dressed bear" in her polka dot onesie!

If you go out on the field today
You're sure of a big surprise.
If you go out on the field today
You'd better go in disguise!

For every bear that ever there was
Will gather there for certain,
Because today's the day Room 2 have their picnic.

Picnic time for Teddy Bears
The little Teddy Bears are having
A lovely time today.

Watch them, catch them unawares,
And see them picnic on their holiday.
See them gaily gad about.
They love to play and shout,
They never have any care;

At 12 o’clock children
Will take them back to class
Because they're tired little Teddy Bears

Every Teddy Bear who's been good
Is sure of a treat today.
There's lots of marvelous things to eat
And wonderful games to play.

Beneath the trees where nobody sees
They'll hide and seek as long as they please
'Cause that's the way the
Teddy Bears have their picnic.

crucnchy snacks were lots fun

Yummy cupcakes arrived just in time - thank you so much
The teddy bears and the children loved this amazing "hill cake" fitting for a teddy bears picnic
By the end of it all children and teddies needed a nap
